Welcome to Gwithian's class page. Miss Guy is the teacher, supported by the wonderful Mrs Mitchell as a Teaching Assistant.
Year 1 have settled in incredibly well so far. They are enjoying more structured play, as well as small group work with an adult. The children are already becoming increasingly independent and are looking forward to the year ahead.
Keep checking in to see what we are up to!
The video shows huge concentration from the children during handwriting. They have been enjoying a range of classical music, which helps them focus and calm after lunchtime.
The children have been exploring teen numbers. They have been using dienes, cubes, numicon and chain links to demonstrate that teen numbers are a ten and some ones. The children have grasped this incredibly well and know that the 1 is actually worth 10. We will begin to use our knowledge to problem solve this week. Great work guys!
Gwithian are beginning to recite their class story 'The Enormous Turnip'. We are enjoying activities that help us engage with the text and have been doing a super job at learning the vocabulary and sequence of the story.
